Safe consulting services and ElectricalCEU, along with Potter Signal and ABC of Alaska, are Event Hosts for the upcoming 2016 Alaska Training Exposition in Anchorage, on June 9th & 10th, 2016.  Event Details are outlined below. General Information & Accommodations

Pic 1 Gen AccommodationsThe training classes and technology hall display are being brought to Alaska by the combined efforts of SAFE Consulting Services, ElectricalCEU.com, Potter Electric Signal Company and Associated Builders and Contractors’ Alaska Chapter. New and changing fire alarm and electrical codes, combined with new regulatory changes and emerging technology make CONTINUING EDUCATION a necessity for all professionals affiliated with designing, specifying, cabling, and installing the increasing complex and diverse work of the various electrical trades.

The event sponsors have combined to bring a quality CONTINUING EDUCATION opportunity to Alaska which will include:

  • Earning up to 16 hours of continuing education in a classroom setting
  • Earning state certification in the Alaska State Fire Marshal I-B Special Certification for fire alarm installation
  • Earning product certification utilizing a commercial leader in fire alarm equipment manufacturing
  • Learning about the latest innovations by commercial fire and security solution providers in our Technology Hall
  • Meeting industry peers and fellow professionals in the electrical trades
  • No cost for attending classes, the technology hall displays, earning CEU’s, food during the day, or networking with industry peers

The host site for the event is the Crowne Plaza Anchorage-Midtown.  The host site will be furnishing:

  • Meeting rooms, training classrooms, food and beverage for all attendees
  • Accommodations at either the Crowne Plaza or adjacent but continguous Fairfield Inn, both at EXCEPTIONAL rates (well below seasonal rates)
  • A “home base” for those staying over and partaking in the fishing
  • Guaranteed event accommodation rates through May 9, 2016

Training Classes

Course 1 – Alaska State FM I-B Special – Fire Alarm Training

(1 day class, June 9th)

FM I BElectricalCEU.com has been providing on-line CEU earning training and now brings the State of Alaska approved curriculum to a classroom where learning occurs in a more stimulating and informative format including active class participation and interaction. Earn the State FM I-B Special certification for fire alarm installation.

Course 2 – Potter PFC Series Installer Certification Training

(1 day class, June 10th)

IPS CertPotter brand automatic fire alarm systems are a favorite among the electrical trades for projects throughout the United States. They are the system of choice for commercial, industrial, multi-tenant retail, multi-tenant residential, and educational developments.

 


Technology Hall

Pic 3 Technology HallThe technology hall will feature numerous quality product solution manufacturers.  Each will have an array of equipment on hand for the purpose of demonstrating product performance, quality of construction, and functional solutions in the areas of security, fire and life safety, and systems integration. Each manufacturer is also an event sponsor so they are facilitating the low cost of attending this training event.

  • Controller and other security hardware for initiating alarms, triggering events, and otherwise managing the physical security environment
  • Equipment which is flexible and feature rich which can perform successfully in a variety of unique and similar types of structures and facilities in many and different vertical markets

The manufacturers will each be presenting their product overview in the Technology Hall, both in booth for individual presentation and also in the Presentation Place.

Chartered Fishing

Pic 5 FishingThe Great State of Alaska is known for many things.  Among them, SALMON fishing.  The 2016 Alaska Training Expo has included chartered fishing on the Little Susitna River for extra-curricular fun.  King salmon will be running and are expected to be the prize for fishing with industry peers and associates.

Fishing on the Little Su is always a pleasant experience and June is generally a great early season time for netting Kings.

Fishing details include:

  • Chartered fishing boats will be available for both Saturday and Sunday, June 11th and 12th, both morning and afternoon
  • A shuttle vehicle will be providing transportation for participants from the Crowne Plaza to the Little Su and back in conjunction with each charter
  • Lunch is provided for each charter participant
  • Fishing equipment, tackle, and bait are provided for  each charter participant
  • Each participant will need to provide for their own:
    • Personal fishing attire, including coats, rubbers, boots, and the like
    • Duly authorized fishing permit
    • Shipping and handling if fish are mailed home after the Training Expo concludes

Registration

Pic 6 RegistrationSAFE Consulting Services and ElectricalCEU.com will be processing registrations and sending out an automated registration confirmation for all those who register to attend the 2016 Alaska Training Expo in Anchorage, AK in June 9-10.  They will also be processing registration for the charted salmon fishing experience on the Little Su river on June 11-12.

The Associated Builders and Contractors’ Alaska Chapter will be processing CEU’s and registering them with the State of Alaska.
